    SEEKING: Musicians who have a mastered level of artistic accomplishment in the rock and pop genres. Musicians must be well versed in the Rock and Pop and R&B genres and have experience touring and performing and singing in rock bands.
     

    MUSICIANS: Lead Vocalist (Female), Lead Vocalist (Male) Singer/Musician (must be able to sing lead and play guitar, keys, or bass), Electric Guitar, Keyboard, Sax + Keys, Electric Bass, Drums. Instrumentalists who can sing will be prioritized. MUST be high energy, experienced rock/pop musicians with fantastic stage presence and personality.

     

    NOTE: Performers can be Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian/Pacific Islander, Middle Eastern/North African/South Asian, and/or white, as well as inclusive of all gender identities. 

    CONTRACT INFORMATION: Salaries $3,500 – $4,500 per month, commensurate with education and experience. Guest status, travel, meals & lodging, cabin on board provided.  Four-to-Five-month continuous contract at sea. Varying start dates throughout the year.

    Please sing one additional song with accompaniment that you feel displays your vocal style and range.

    Vocalist/Instrumentalist (guitar, bass, keyboards)

    • Song with accompaniment- Sing two songs with accompaniment: one up-beat and one ballad. The songs should be well-known, popular tunes of any style or genre that display your vocal style and range. The vocal melody must cover at least one half-octave.
    • Prepared Piece- Play a prepared piece displaying your technical level as an instrumentalist. This could be a tune from a well-known artist in any genre. Feel free to bring along any play along tracks. 1/8” aux cord will be provided (apple dongle or other phone adapters will not be provided).
    • 12-Bar Blues- Comp and solo over a 12-bar blues with a play-along track in any key. 1 chorus comping, 1 chorus soloing.

    INSTRUMENTALISTS PLEASE NOTE!

    Make sure you arrive with enough time to unpack, tune, and set up any pedals before entering the audition room. You should be able to plug and play.

     

    Lead Guitar

    • Prepared Piece- Play a prepared piece displaying your technical level as an instrumentalist. This could be a tune from a well-known artist in any genre. Feel free to bring along any play along tracks. 1/8” aux cord will be provided (apple dongle or other phone adapters will not be provided).
    • 12-Bar Blues- Comp and solo over a 12-bar blues with a play-along track in any key. 1 chorus comping, 1 chorus soloing.
    • Soloing- Play an improvised or transcribed solo in the Rock style. Feel free to bring along any play along tracks. 1/8” aux cord will be provided (apple dongle or other phone adapters will not be provided).
    • Rhythm- Play 60 seconds of a rhythmic funk strumming groove in the style of Nile Rogers or Cory Wong.
    • OPTIONAL SIGHT READING- You will be given 1 minute to look over a quick excerpt from a popular song in the Rock style. After 1 minute you will be asked to play the written music along with a metronome. 1-2 selections may be presented.

    Electric Bass

     Prepared Piece- Play a prepared piece displaying your technical level as an instrumentalist. This could be a tune from a well-known artist in any genre. Feel free to bring along any play along tracks. 1/8” aux cord will be provided (apple dongle or other phone adapters will not be provided).

    • 12-Bar Blues- Comp and solo over a 12-bar blues with a play-along track in any key. 1 chorus comping, 1 chorus soloing.
    • Rhythm- Play 30 seconds of a rhythm groove in any musical style and tempo with following techniques you feel comfortable with. Fingerstyle, slap-style, pick-style. You can choose any or all techniques.
    • Groove- Play 30 approximately 30 seconds of the main groove from the following songs.

    • 12-Bar Blues- Comp and solo over a 12-bar blues with a play-along track in any key. 1 chorus comping, 1 chorus soloing.

    Multi-Instrumentalists

    What to bring

    • Instrument(s). Drum set and keyboards will be provided. Guitar and bass amps will be provided.
